Canadian Immigration Backlog Surge

Canada continues to struggle with its immigration applications

The backlog of applications in the inventory is nearly 2.7 million people

It has been following a growth of nearly 300,000 people over the past six weeks

One of the main reasons behind this surge is the pandemic

A total of 51,616 Express Entry applicants are also waiting on decisions

Although the inventory of family class applicants is in a little better position with 118,251 people

The Canadian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) began a study on these backlogs to improve the situation
